Why We Chose Life on the Road

It all started with a craving for freedom and simplicity…

Life has a way of piling on. Between appointments, responsibilities, mortgage, and routines, we found ourselves longing for something more—something less cluttered. It wasn’t that we were running away from life… it was that we wanted to run toward something that felt more alive.

We wanted mornings that didn’t start with alarms and the school rush, but with sunrises. We wanted time—real time—for each other, for nature, for breathing deeply and living slowly. We wanted the kind of life that felt intentional.

That craving turned into research. Research turned into plans. And plans turned into keys in the ignition, wheels rolling forward, and a quiet “we’re really doing this” said in shock.

The Why Behind the Road

It wasn’t just about traveling. It was about shedding the excess—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We downsized. We simplified. And in the process, we gained something we didn’t expect: clarity.

The road gave us space to:

  • Be more present especially with our kids.

  • Heal and reflect.

  • Discover what truly matters.

  • Advocate for what we believe in (like brain cancer awareness 💜).

  • And most of all, connect—with each other and the world around us.

What We’ve Found So Far

It’s not always easy. Some days are full of awe, others full of flat tires or cranky kids. But every twist in the road has brought something: a new lesson, a deeper appreciation, or a story we wouldn’t have known otherwise.

We've found:

  • Joy in the simple things: campfire dinners, desert skies, early morning birdsong.

  • Freedom in flexibility—where the next turn is always up to us.

  • Connection with strangers who became part of our story.

  • Peace in letting go of what we thought we “should” be doing.

Why We’re Sharing This

Because maybe you’re craving that same shift. Because maybe freedom and simplicity sound like something you're ready to explore too. And because we believe our journey isn’t just for us—it’s for anyone who needs to see that another way of living is possible.

Thanks for riding along with us. The road ahead is long, winding, and wildly beautiful—and we’re just getting started.
