About Us

Where did it all start?

We’re just your typical Australian family. Aussie battlers through and through.

It all started in 2006 when Aaron and Peta met online. Both born in Victoria, both sharing a love for music, motorbikes, and nature. That connection quickly turned into something more, and by January 2007, after finally meeting in person, we were inseparable.

In 2009, life brought us two things: our beautiful daughter, Mollie, and our first battle with brain cancer whom we call "Fred."

Two craniotomies, rounds of radiation therapy, and an elopement later, we welcomed our son Lachie in 2010. By 2012, we had managed to buy our first home not much, but it was a fresh start.

Then, in 2014, we finally got a break: remission. It felt like we could breathe again. That relief brought more joy into our lives with the arrival of our Darcy and 18 months later, Archer in 2016.

In 2018, "Fred" returned. Another craniotomy. Expensive chemo. Our dream of buying a new home had to wait. Finally in 2020, we finally found the one, the house we thought would be ours forever.

Then came COVID. And in 2022, heartbreak struck again when Aaron’s beloved mum, his best friend, passed away. Through it all, we managed. With his inheritance, Aaron got his dream car, we paid off the house, built a shed, and even took a well-earned five-week holiday in Southeast Asia.

For a while, it felt like we had finally made it. The house, the cars, great schools for the kids, stable jobs. But life had become routine, and the dream to travel Australia only grew stronger. After years of back and forth, we finally took the leap, bought a van, packed up, and hit the road for Our Year With No Idea 2024.

That was until three weeks in, when we got the news: "Fred" was back.

The trip was cut short, only half a lap of our gorgeous country. Surgery was scheduled just before Christmas. It was a stroke of luck, Aaron qualified for a promising trial drug starting in March 2025.

2025 wasn't going to hold us back it saw us upgrade the tow car and the caravan, we sold our house and started to plan out our future travel whilst under going treatment until bad news hit again. Just before Christmas the news came that the cancer was back x2 and was now inoperable.

Feeling like we can't catch a break, agressive treatment was conducted in Feburary 2026. Now nearing the end of May 2026 and we are finally looking at travelling again! Or we were. Now we're desperately trying to raise funds for life saving treatment whilst our future now seems uncertain.

But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that we keep fighting. Because that’s what we do.
